Sagging Breast/Breast Reduction

Breast Reduction
Excessively large breasts relative to body size cause troubles in daily life or sports activities as well as dissatisfaction with appearance. Sometimes, they bring about rashes under the breasts, shoulder discomfort, disc problems in the neck or spinal pain. Breast Reduction is needed not only for aesthetic reasons but also physical and mental health and enhanced confidence.

Surgical Method

Periareolar Incision Technique

This technique is appropriate for breasts that are not too big or sagging. It leaves no scar and produces the most natural-looking outcome. Since this technique has a limited ability to reduce larger amounts of breast tissue, it is not appropriate for exceptionally large breasts.

Vertical Incision

This technique combines a periareolar incision and inferior pyramidal technique and is the most commonly used. Taking advantage of both techniques, it removes breast tissue, fat and skin. It can remove a relatively large amount of breast tissue and is likely to give the patient great satisfaction.

Inferior Pyramidal Technique
This is appropriate for removing a massive amount of tissue from severely large breasts, but leaves large scars. It is rarely used due to the scars, but has limited application if the breasts are overly sagging or need to be drastically reduced.

Sagging Breast Correction
Sagging Breast Correction (Experience Braun’s Special Procedure.) Breasts which used to be properly full and elastic in a slight upwardly pointed shape in younger years start sagging through childbirth, breastfeeding and the aging process of the skin. The breasts sag because the elastic fibers are extended and become unable to support the weight of the breasts. To regain lost elasticity from degenerated elastic fibers, extended skin and breast tissue needs to be removed with the breasts upwardly repositioned.

class A

The nipple is on the same level with or 1 cm below the underside of the breast.

class B

The nipple is 1 to 3 cm below the underside of the breast, but above the lowest breast tissue.

class C

The nipple is over 3 cm below the underside of the breast and pointed downward.

Normally the nipple is 4 to 5 cm above the underside of the breast, and anything below that can be surgically corrected.
